Bayside High School is hosting various workshops designed to demystify "code" and show students, parents, faculty and members of the Bayside community that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, a creator, an innovator. Workshops will be held at Bayside High School from 3:45 to 4:45 (Session I) or 5:00 to 6:00 (Session II).

According to Code.org, the promoter behind Hour of Code,

1) 9 out of 10 schools do not offer computer programming courses.

2) by 2020 there will be 1.4 billion computing jobs with only 400,000 computer science students graduated.

3) Computer Science is one of the highest paid degrees with a job outlook of more than twice the national average.
